Nanoose Bay is not in Parksville. It sits in Electoral Area E of the Regional District of Nanaimo, and that one line on a map decides real money: the RDN pays $2,000 towards switching a house off gas, propane or oil, and it pays it in the Electoral Areas only.
So a Nanoose Bay house coming off propane has a rebate to claim. The same house two minutes inside the Parksville boundary does not. The RDN also wants the application inside 90 days of the purchase, which is the deadline people miss.
Both of those come from the RDN's own pages. The RDN also requires the heat pump to be installed by a contractor registered with CleanBC Better Homes. Griffin Refrigeration is not registered, so the RDN rebate is not available on a heat pump we install today.
