What we do with your details
Griffin Refrigeration Ltd. collects what it needs to quote and do the work, plus the visit measurement described below, which you can decline. This page says exactly what that is.

The short version: we keep what you send us so we can do your job, we do not track you around the internet, and you can ask us to delete it.
Griffin Refrigeration Ltd. is a refrigeration and HVAC contractor based in Qualicum Beach, BC. The business is owned and run by Mark Griffin, and the shop line, 250-797-2829, reaches him. British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act is the law that applies to a private business like this one.
Two things collect information here: you phoning the shop, and the form on the contact page. There is no account to create, no newsletter and no login.
The form takes typed text only. There is no upload control anywhere on the site.
What is collected, and why
Five things worth stating. If a sixth ever appears, it will be written here before it goes live.
What you send us
Your name, email address, phone number, the address of the job, and whatever you tell us about the equipment, whether you call or use the contact form.
Used to answer you, quote the work and schedule it. Nothing else.
The contact form
It asks for your name, email, phone, the job address, whether it is a home or a business, and what you need. A Cloudflare function on this site sends that to the shop as one email, through a mail-delivery service called Resend.
The site keeps no copy of what you send. To limit spam, it counts sends per connection, keyed on a hashed form of your IP address. The count is kept for up to two hours, then discarded. Resend keeps its own sending record under its privacy policy.
Who sees it
Mark and the technician doing the work. Where a job needs a part ordered or a manufacturer warranty claim filed, the model and serial numbers go to the supplier or the manufacturer.
Never sold, never rented, and never handed to anyone for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 by default to see which pages people read, how long they stay, and how many contact forms are sent. A bar at the foot of the page says so on your first visit and lets you decline. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, such as one named _ga, to tell a returning visitor from a new one. It does not log or store your IP address. There is no advertising, no remarketing and no session recording.
To decline, press Decline on that bar, or use Cookie settings at the foot of any page. To opt out of Google Analytics on every site that uses it, install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Requests to Google
Your browser fetches the three typefaces on this site from Google Fonts. Unless you decline analytics, it also loads Google Tag Manager and sends the visit and form events described here to Google Analytics. Google sees those requests, including your IP address, even though Google Analytics does not store it.
They are the only third-party requests your browser makes from any page here.
If any of this changes
Two outside services have been added so far, the contact form's mail delivery and Google Analytics, and both are described above. If anything else is ever added, such as a spam check or an advertising tag, this page is updated in the same breath, because a privacy page describing a stack the site does not run is worse than no page at all.
Several pages link out to government, utility and news sites so you can check a rebate or a rule at the source. Once you follow one of those links you are on their site, under their privacy policy, not ours.
Ask us to delete it
Send a note through the contact form saying what you sent and roughly when, and we will remove it. The same route works if you want to see what we hold, or to correct something that is wrong.
